Wilks Awarded ISO 14001 Accreditation

Wilks are proud to announce that we have achieved an ISO 14001 accreditation.

What is ISO 14001? 

ISO 14001 is an international standard that specifies whether companies have met the requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS).

This certification was developed by the ‘International Organisation of Standardisation’.

It covers the following areas:

  • Context of the organisation 
  • Leadership
  • Planning 
  • Support 
  • Operations
  • Performance Evaluations
  • Improvements

What does being ISO 14001 certified mean?

Being certified means that our production facility in Tollesbury is working under a suitable framework for managing environmental systems. This is through a multitude of policies and processes. 

The frameworks used tend to follow a Plan-Do-Check-Act approach, with the goal of continuous improvement. 

How does ISO 14001 benefit our customers and distributors?

Gaining an ISO 14001 accreditation assures our customers that we are working towards minimising our environmental impact. This is assessed by an external body to ensure we are hitting these goals and progressing towards being a more environmentally compliant company.

We hope this gives our customers and distributors assurance that we recognise our responsibilities to the wider environment and to the local community. In turn allowing customers and distributors to purchase marine fendering confidently.

Moving forward

We are incredibly proud of this award and moving forward we will continue to uphold our current standards as well as develop and continually improve our processes. Re-accreditation takes place annually and scoring is provided by an external body.
